There are many people and organisations out there doing great work in promoting the way of the pirate. We may not always agree on the finer details but the important thing is that awareness of the ways of pirates and how great it is to be a pirate outweigh any of these differences. Although the aim of pirateology is to teach people the true way of the pirate and not the romantisised Hollywood version we realise it is better to be open to people with similar beliefs than to denigrate them (unless we’re drunk… which is quite often... then we denigrate a lot of stuff… but anyway…). One of the biggest and best promoters of Pirate lifestyle. Talk like a Pirate day is on September 16 every year and although the guys behind it are not members of The Church of Pirateology they are still doing their bit to raise awareness of how great it is to be a Pirate. They have a heap more Piratey links as well.
This German power metal band has been a leading proponent of the pirates way of life since their 1986 album, "Under the Jolly Roger". Still kicking on till this day their songs have continued to glorify piracy and although they have no official links to The Church of Pirateology we still call them brothers.
Pirate music radio. All Pirate, all the time. Songs about Pirates, By Pirates and nothing else. A great way to discover new Pirate music... there is heaps out there.
Billy Bones Locker (A.K.A. the Pirates Locker) has thousands of Pirate items. Everything you need to fully outfit your new life as a pirate including party needs, signs, flags, clothing, treasure chests, music, games, toys and even some food items. Please note that this is an American site but they do ship worldwide and have a currency converter on the site.
Some great laws to live your life by. Some of these laws may contradict the teachings of The Church of Pirateology but we all have our own interpretations of Pirate lore and we're a fairly tolerant bunch... mainly cause we're usually drunk. Our common beliefs (such as law 57) overcome any small differences in ideolgy.
This battle has raged for years. The question of who is better, first posed in Sydney, Australia in 1965 has now spread around the world. Check out this site and vote for PIRATES... of course.
